About KCAL
The Kansas Center for Assisted Living (KCAL) is an affiliate of the Kansas Health Care Association (KHCA) and the National Center for Assisted Living (NCAL). KCAL was the first statewide trade association in Kansas to offer specific services for both for-profit and not-for-profit Assisted Living, Residential Health Care, Home Plus and Adult Day Care facilities.
KCAL is a member-driven trade association, striving to meet their needs by offering a variety of forums to bring providers of care together so that they can speak as one voice when challenges arise.
Member benefits of KCAL include:
- Representation. Professional staff and lobbyists represent members at the state and federal level of legislation.
- Networking. Opportunities to share ideas and concerns with peers at state and local levels through education and social events.
- Education. Interactive and engaging topics offered both in classroom and web-based settings for all staff. Continuing education credits are offered to multiple levels of licensure including nurses, administrators, social workers and dieticians.
- Communication. E-bulletins and newsletters offer up-to-the-minute information affecting long term care residents and facilities.
- Membership. Dual membership in the National Center for Assisted Living is included. NCAL is highly recognized by policymakers and regulators for it expertise and guidance regarding long term care. KCAL membership is by facility – meaning that when a facility is a member, all its employees are members.
- Discounts. All KHCA/KCAL sponsored workshops, conventions, operator courses, publications and videos are discounted significantly for members.
- Resources. KCAL is its members’ link to state regulatory agencies, state and national information about our industry; and resident, family and staff information materials.
